Fathia Balogun Slams Saidi Balogun ... You Are A Liar, We Are In Court!
After ace filmmaker Saheed Balogun denied taking his estranged wife, Fathia Balogun to court few days after it was reported in the media. Fathia has called him out, accusing him of lying to the press. According to her, he indeed dragged her to court over the use of the name. Below is a statement released by her publicist, Seun Oloketuyi
“Our attention has been drawn to media reports where Saheed Balogun claims that he knows nothing about the media reports that he is in court with our client Fathia Balogun over his decision to ask his former wife to stop using his name.
“We will like to put the records straight. The case is in court and our lawyers are on it to ensure that our client retains the name. We won’t be saying much at this time but we believe that adults should be bold and mature enough to take responsibility for their actions and not do something and say something else.
“We won’t say anything further on this matter until judgement is given as this case resumes hearing.”

Obasanjo Fires Again, Warns Jonathan - ‘Keep your reply, save Nigeria!’
As the Presidency prepares a reply to the 18-page letter written by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to President Goodluck Jonathan on the state of the nation, indications emerged, yesterday, that the former leader was not expecting any reply but action from Jonathan.
A competent source told Sunday Vanguard that Obasanjo was more interested in Jonathan addressing the core issues he raised in his letter rather than getting a reply to his damning missive, entitled, ‘Before it is too late’.
The source, which also denied any breakfast meeting between Obasanjo and Jonathan in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, said the story was made up by those who tried to play down the importance of the former leader’s letter.
The source said,”The truth of the matter is that former President Obasanjo is not expecting President Jonathan to reply him. Absolutely no. The President did not consider it needful to respond to previous letters privately written to him by the former head of state and he does not expect any reply to this one.
“I can tell you that Obasanjo wrote the letter with the best intentions for Jonathan and Nigeria and what he wants from the President is courageous and timely actions to save Nigeria from the brink. That’s all.
“Obasanjo will be a happy Nigerian if appropriate steps are taken by President Jonathan to address the burning issues of corruption and other challenges that threaten to bring this country down.
“There is absolutely no reason to expect a reply from the Presidency when previous letters written to him were not even acknowledged.”
It was however learnt, at the weekend, that presidential aides have drafted a response to Obasanjo’s letter.
The response was said to be awaiting Jonathan’s approval.
Asked to justify the breakfast parley between the former President and Jonathan in Kenya on the day the bromide of Obasanjo’s letter was feasted on by the media, the source said there was no meeting between the two leaders.
The source said that Obasanjo and Jonathan only met by chance and exchanged pleasantries as they lodged in the same hotel in Nairobi.
Obasanjo stirred controversy when he wrote a letter to Jonathan drawing his attention to myriad of issues capable of taking Nigeria to the brink if not addressed.
But the Presidency fired back, describing the letter as inciting, provocative and self-serving. Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, who’s issued a statement, indicated that Jonathan would make a formal response but did not say when he would do so.

Governor Rotimi Amaechi - 'You have stoned nobody that's why we are stealing'
The Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi speaking at a tribute event for Nelson Mandela in Lagos on Friday, said the reason political office holders steal is because citizens let them.
"Even the musicians, you're singing about us, the leaders? If you see a thief and you allow him to be stealing, what do you do? You have stoned nobody that's why we are stealing. Who have you stoned? We came out and you started dancing, the oil subsidy, we told you they stole N2.3trillion, what did you do? Instead you're protesting. The oil subsidy that is not reaching the poor, few individuals are going away with the money, you have done nothing, you are mourning Madiba, 95 years.
"It's good to steal if you can't fight back. You have heard about $50billion, nobody is talking, we are debating whether can he talk to the president like that. In some countries people will be on the street, until they return that money. $50billion is N8trillion, it will change Nigeria. Me I want to steal only $1billion, let them bring it" He said

Saidi Balogun Sets The Record Straight - 'Fathia and I had TWO children together NOT THREE'
Read press statement released by Saidi Balogun, a few hours ago, about the brouhaha going on between himself and his ex-wife, Fathia Balogun - Yesterday I was accused of lying to the press on a recent rumor that has been circulating. I separated from my ex-wife Fathia Balogun in 2006, over 7 years ago. Since we were LEGALLY MARRIED IN COURT, we had to LEGALLY DIVORCE IN COURT to finalize the issue. The public is welcome to go to the Lagos High Court to verify these records. This has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY NAME! I AM NOT ASKING OR FORCING FATHIA TO STOP USING THE NAME BALOGUN, as it is one of the most common Yoruba names.
Furthermore, to set the record straight, Fathia and I had TWO children together NOT THREE. Fathia's first child is from a different husband that she later divorced before we were married.
I never lied to anyone. Journalists presented me with a rumor that had no basis in fact, so I simply stated that I DO NOT WANT MY PRIVATE LIFE MADE PUBLIC. IT IS MY PRIVACY AND CONCERNS NOBODY. I decided to stay quiet as the two parties involved in this issue are over 40 years old, and I think we are old enough to handle this issue MATURELY instead of turning our private matters into a public gossip debate.
I hope this issue is now clarified for the public, as I SAIDI BALOGUN am divulging the true facts myself instead of using a MISINFORMED publicist to do so for me. There are so many positive aspects of Nigeria's entertainment industry, we would rather focus on negative meaningless noise instead of these positive components.
PLEASE GIVE ME THE RESPECT OF KEEPING MY PERSONAL LIFE PRIVATE AND OUT OF THE PUBLIC EYE. I AM FOCUSING ON MY WORK. THANK YOU!
-Saidi Balogun

Be Ready To Face The Consequences Of Treason, Presidency Warns APC
Read press statement released by the State House below.
We have noted with utter disdain, the reckless and irresponsible call by the APC on Sunday for the National Assembly to commence impeachment proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan.
Ordinarily, we would not have dignified Alhaji Lai Mohammed’s latest vituperations in the service of his paymasters with a response, but we thought it necessary to warn that the Federal Government will not standby idly and let the nation be plunged into unnecessary crises and political instability because of the desperation and apparent readiness of the APC spokesman and his gang of power-seeking desperadoes to sacrifice the well-being of the country on the altar of their selfish personal ambitions.
The Presidency totally condemns the decision by Alhaji Mohammed and his party to move further beyond the bounds of honourable and acceptable political conduct with the senseless call for the impeachment of a President who continues to sincerely devote himself to the discharge of the sacred mandate freely given to him by Nigerians.
The APC, which remains a minority party with doubtful credentials in the National Assembly, knows fully well that its attempt to hector and blackmail a Parliament dominated by loyal members of the President’s party, the PDP, into an impeachment process, will come to nothing.
But it has cavalierly embarked on this outrageous gambit, with scant regard for peace, order, security and political stability in the country, in furtherance of its dastardly and heinous strategy of over-heating the polity and working to cause public disaffection against the Jonathan Presidency with lies, false accusations and unjustifiable indictments ahead of the 2015 general elections.
The emptiness and hollowness of the APC’s call for President Jonathan’s impeachment will be obvious to all objective and discerning Nigerians who read through the statement issued by Alhaji Mohammed today. It was long on self-serving rhetoric and falsehoods, but lacked a single clearly defined charge on the basis of which any plausible impeachment proceedings against the President can be initiated.
All that the APC could offer in justification of its absurd and hare-brained impeachment call was a rehash of its well-worn litany of baseless accusations against the President, including some for which culpability should be laid squarely at the doorsteps of its own leaders and some of their new friends.
The Presidency also considers it utterly deplorable that the APC has, in its Machiavellian desperation to seize control of the Federal Government, recklessly assailed the integrity and honour of the Nigerian Judiciary in a callous attempt to pre-empt the outcome of the case legitimately brought against it by some of its new friends by the PDP.
Alhaji Mohammed’s unscrupulous effort to drag the nation’s judiciary into its murky political warfare and his readiness to intimidate and blackmail members of the bench so as to secure a favourable outcome for his party in the pending case clearly shows that nothing is beyond the pale for him and the APC in pursuit of their quest for power.
The Jonathan Administration does not need Lai Mohammed or the APC to remind it of its constitutional responsibility for the security and well-being of Nigerians. The President will continue to do his utmost best to achieve positive national transformation in all areas in spite of efforts by the opposition to thwart or disparage the work of his administration.
In this regard, we have noted the undisguised threat by the APC to foster public insurrection against the Federal Government if pending legal cases go against it. We urge Nigerians to take special note of this boastful indication of an intention to resort to lawlessness.
The Presidency warns that the APC and any persons who make themselves its willing tools for the breach of public order and safety will be made to face the full sanctions of the law. Those who are threatening fire and brimstone should be ready for consequences of treasonable action.
The APC's false copy-cat allegation that 1, 000 snipers are being trained by the Jonathan Administration clearly shows that they are now in cahoots with some other elements who are bent on discrediting this administration and inciting the public against it.
President Jonathan is running a people's government. He does not need any snipers. His legitimacy comes from the people. Those who are alleging the existence of snipers should step forward and provide the evidence or shut up forever and go down in history as spineless cowards, driven by sheer greed and indecency.

Obasanjo Has Washed His Hands Off Innocent Blood, Says Sheikh Ahmed Abubakar Gumi
Islamic cleric and scholar Sheikh Ahmed Gumi has praised former President Olusegun Obasanjo for standing up for his conviction and for being bold to confront the government of President Goodluck Jonathan.
In the words of the Kaduna-based cleric, Mr. Obasanjo has “washed his hands off innocent blood” by speaking up against the lapses of the incumbent government. Last week, Mr. Obasanjo had leaked the contents of an 18-page letter filled with allegations of corruption, misrule, and dishonorable conduct against President Jonathan.
Speaking on Sahara TV over the weekend, Mr. Gumi defended Mr. Obasanjo’s position.
In a letter titled “Before It Is Too Late,” the former president expressed grave concern on President Jonathan manner of governance. He also accused the president of ineptitude and failure to deliver on his electoral promises to Nigerians. In addition, Mr. Obasanjo charged that President Jonathan had failed to curb corruption, had lost control of national security, and was promoting divisiveness.
Mr. Gumi endorsed Mr. Obasanjo's position. “I expect all those retired generals who are languishing in their luxurious buildings would come out and speak against what is happening in Nigeria. Nobody did, so I hail this man and I am ready to forgive him for all the things he did against Nigeria,” Mr. Gumi said.
Responding to the issue of corruption during Mr. Obasanjo’s Presidency, the Islamic cleric admitted to SaharaTV’s Rudolf Okonkwo that there was corruption during Obasanjo’s tenure. “There was corruption, yes,” he said. “But Obasanjo was not doing it to divide Nigeria. He was doing it to help himself and his friends.”
Some of Mr. Obasanjo’s critics have also noted that he “imposed” President Jonathan on Nigerians. But Mr. Gumi suggested that the motive of Mr. Obasanjo, a two-time head of state, was to show Nigerians that anyone from any ethnic group, including minority groups, could become president. “The intention of Obasanjo, who fought the Biafran war, a war of secession from Nigeria, his intention was never to bring somebody to break Nigeria,” he said.
He sharply blamed President Jonathan for doing little to curb corruption in his government and also for his lackadaisical approach to the security crisis in the north-eastern part of Nigeria. In a veiled reference to the scandal involving Aviation Minister Stella Oduah, who spent $1.6 million ostensibly to acquire two bullet-proof cars, Mr. Gumi asked, “How can the [National] Assembly investigate a case of fraud by one Minister and convict the Minister, yet the President [is] taking no action about that?”
The firebrand Islamic scholar also indicted President Jonathan for hiding behind terror attacks by the Islamist group, Boko Haram, to unleash his own brand of terror on Nigerians. He alleged that a series of bombings across northern Nigeria, which seemed to have been perpetuated by Boko Haram, were actually carried out by security operatives under President Jonathan’s command. “Boko Haram are people from the north-eastern part of Nigeria. And if you can remember, or if you can even hear their language, you know that they are from the north-eastern part. If they want to fight the president because he is a southerner or a Christian, they will go to southern states and Christian states to fight him there. They will not be exploding bombs in their own towns,” the sheikh said. He added that Mr. Jonathan belongs to a faction of Nigerians hell-bent on seceding from and breaking up the Nigerian federation.
Presenting three scenarios all of which entailed Mr. Jonathan losing power, the Islamic cleric stated that Mr. Obasanjo’s letter spells doom for the president’s electoral chances in 2015. He said that Mr. Jonathan’s options are to resign, to be impeached, or to risk being humiliated at the polls in 2015. He advised the embattled president to choose the first option.
“I don't think anybody can stand up now and say he will campaign for Jonathan. It is finished. So the best way for him is to resign,” Mr. Gumi said. He argued that Mr. Jonathan should seriously consider the first option because Nigerians cannot be ruled by force anymore. “Nobody will rule us again with a rigged election,” he said.

Radar Online Slams Mariah Carey For Performing In Nigeria | Calls Our Nation 'The World's Center Of Bank Fraud & Human Trafficking'
Ye! My fellow Nigerians we have suffered oh! A United States gossip site Radar Online yesterday scolded Mariah Carey in an article posted on their site, saying she shouldn't have accepted to do a gig in a country known for 'terror, death and fraud'. Read the Radar Online article below with your korokoro eyes. CHAI!
Mariah Carey proudly posted a pic of herself in a slinky yellow dress and wrote, “Backstage in Nigeria” on Saturday. But maybe the songbird should have done some homework before agreeing to the gig?
Her show was at Access Bank’s Christmas Party which was also a farewell bash for the bank’s managing director. And while Access Bank is a reputable financial institution, should Carey have known a few basics about the African nation before taking the paycheck?
Ironically — given that she was performing for bankers — it seems Carey wasn’t aware Nigeria is well-known as the center of the world’s email financial crimes! Nigeria is even part of the name — as in “Nigerian 411 Scams.”
Nigeria is also, according to the United Nations, the hub of human trafficking as “a source, destination and transit country. AND, just for good measure, there are mass killings going on in two Nigerian states right now, and according to Human Rights Watch, the violence is being ignored by federal authorities.
“Systemic corruption in the Nigeria Police Force” is the problem, a HRW spokesperson told CNN.
Carey isn’t the first performer who has taken a paycheck for appearing in countries known for terror, death and fraud. In 2011, Beyoncé sang for Moammar Gadhafi’s sons and Jennifer Lopez performed in Turkmenistan.

Dino Melaye's Wife, Tokunbo Files For Divorce After He Put A Gun To Her Forehead + Shocking Dirty Details Of Domestic Abuse Revealed In Petition!
Things have fallen apart in the home of controversial Kogi state ex law maker Dino Melaye ,his 10year old marriage has crashed like a pack of cards and Tokunbo his wife and mother of his three kids has taken to her heels filing for divorce in the process.
According to STELLADIMOKOKORKUS.COM sources ''the drama between Dino and his wife will take a full week to narrate.they had a lot of problems and each time they had an argument be sure that his wife would end up in hospital being treated for injuries of all kinds.she was a punching bag.
Aside from allegedly sleeping with his house girl, which was one of the major problems, there are also confirmed whispers that sometimes when Tokunbo went to work he removed her pix from the house walls and brought in different women in their matrimonial bed telling them his wife had died, and even getting the domestic staff to say their madam was resting with the Lord''
The insiders continue ''for the past 9yrs Dino has been beating his wife to the point that there are police records stating some reported instances, she was five months pregnant with her second son widen the beatings began, and it got worse.
she was rushed to Zanlin hospital in 2005 at exactly 10pm, and was treated for injuries on head he hit her with an iron rod.
In October 2010,she was rushed to Wuse general hospital by the police themselves after she ran in her bloodied nightgown with deep cuts on her arms, the report says Dino used a plank to flog her aiming for the head but she used her arms to protect herself and ended up with deep deep cuts that needed emergency room attention.
On September 25,2013 Tokunbo and Dino had an argument and he pulled a silver pistol to her head and was seconds away from pulling the rigger when his ringing phone distracted him,she took off leaving behind her shoes.she has filed for divorce and wants custody of the kids but she has not been allowed to see them or have any contact with them.
Insiders say on that september 25th morning the altercation which led to Dino pulling out his gun had to do with a dressing gown in the wardrobe belonging to Dino, his wife attempted to put it on and the law maker refused telling her that all the dressing gowns and perfumes he had were gifts from his girlfriends and he did not buy them with money.the wife allegedly retorted by saying she could as well accept gift from male friends and Dino exploded accusing his wife of referring to her ex boyfriend and asking her to leave his house,he pointed a gun to her head and the drama ended with the wife running to the police station to report to the commissioner of police and escorted back to the house with five policemen who came to search for the gun with a warrant of arrest.Dino was invited to the police headquarters and the same warrant of arrest later surface online claiming he had been arrested because of the Stella Oduah corruption case he was previously arrested for.
''Stella, can you believe that Dino sacked three of his domestic staff because they were updating Madam on the whereabouts and well being of her three children but were later quoted as being nine domestic staff sacked for being security risks?Dino has over 10 cars but if he has small issues with his wife,he seizes all the car keys and forces her to either trek or take public transport.if she returns home anyway after 7pm,she must sleep outside the gate till he returns home by 1am his usual time and when he gets back, just know that there is fire on the mountain''.
Different versions on why the marriage crashed has also emerged from the camp of Dino.
The first version is that ''he caught her twice with her ex,he warned her the first time but divorced her when he caught her again''
The second whispers is that ''he caught her whispering on the phone with her ex and he asked her why she was talking to him and she shouted at him that she would not only speak with him but would f#*k him as well''
The third version is that ''Tokunbo allegedly collected money from Stella oduah and planted cocaine in the house and then went to report to police to search the house. Some say it was cocaine she planted, others say it was guns''
Concerned friends of both couple are running helper skelter to ensure that they settle well and the kids returned to their mother who is presently living alone.
FIDA,an international body for female lawyers has also been brought into the matter to fight for the rights of the estranged Mrs Melaye who in her divorce petition is asking for full custody of the three children who have been seized from her.

Nigerian Doctors Begin Nationwide Strike On Wednesday
Nigerians are in for another hard time as the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) five-day nationwide warning strike begins on Wednesday.
The association also threatened to embark on an indefinite and total strike if the federal government fail to use the window of the 5 day warning strike to meet all her demands.
NMA Presiden Osahion Enabulele who spoke with reporters in Minna on Sunday after the National Executive Committee meeting and an Emergency Delegates Congress of the association said the association was constrained to declare the industrial action due to the extremely poor progress in the resolution of their demands after expiration of several ultimatum issued to the federal government.
The NMA President lamented that unions now have to resort to strike because government ” seems not to appreciate the need for constructive dialogue but only respond to strike actions”
Describing the development as a sad reflection of the state of affairs in the country, the NMA President bemoaned that industrial strikes have become the routine in the country today.
Enabulele threatened further that if the warning strike fails, the association would have no other choice than to resort to total strike.
“For now, what we have issued as a test to the commitment of government is a warning strike. We hope the federal government would rise up to its responsibilities and use this opportunity to address the issues presented to it because if this fails, we may have no choice than to declare a total strike action.
“We feel the federal government is either taking us for a ride or the strategy being employed by us is not appreciated. Handling our issues with levity is what has led us to declare this warning strike action.”
He further said that if not for the yuletide period, the association would have declared a total strike action because according to him “members felt they have been pushed to their limits but they considered the delicate period and the interest of Nigerians which they have at hand.
“The reason for the strike being five days is to give allowance to our people. Our members were agitating for a total action because they felt they have been pushed to their limit but we recognize that this is a delicate period and Nigerians need to be given some allowance during this period. We hope the federal government will utilize the opportunity to resolve the issue on ground.”

The police in Ogun State have arrested a pastor with a first generation pentecostal church, Daniel Samuel, for allegedly attacking his wife, Patience Samuel, with machete and inflicting deep cuts at the back of her neck.
The pastor allegedly attacked his wife over her alleged persistent failure to attend prayer meetings and other church programmes.
Our correspondent gathered that 45- year-old David, who became the pastor of the Ode Remo branch of the church about a year ago, had travelled to Owode-Egba in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, where his wife works and allegedly hit her with the machete that left her injured.
Punch Metro learnt that the pastor had accused his 42-year-old wife of shirking in her dedication to church programmes.
The pastor was said to have on several occasions complained to his in-laws about his wife’s obsession with office work at the expense of her family and church services.
Our correspondent however learnt that Patience also sells firewood, charcoal and food at the Redemption Camp to augment her husband’s N15,000 monthly salary and to support their five children.
An elder brother of the victim, Samson Akpikie, was said to have earlier arranged a meeting between the couple and other district pastors of the church for December 15 (yesterday) to resolve their lingering differences.
But the Pastor, who could not wait, was said to have visited his wife at her station where their disagreement degenerated into a heated argument. The pastor allegedly attacked his wife with a machete during the argument.
It was said David initially alerted the neighbours that his wife was attacked by some unknown men.
But doctors at the Federal Medical Center, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, where the injured wife was taken to, ordered that the case be reported to the police.
The pastor was said to have gone to the Owode-Egba Police Station, where he told the police that the woman was attacked by unknown men.
The police were said to have detained the pastor who later confessed to the crime after interrogation.
The Ogun Command Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident.
He said, “The pastor is with us, he initially lied to the police that his wife was attacked by some men, but later confessed after interrogation. He will soon be charged to court for false information and wounding.”
At the FMC, our correspondent observed that the pastor’s wife could only utter some incoherent words when she was asked questions.
The Consultant of Orthopaedics and Trauma, who was in charge of the patient, Doctor Ojeblenu, said the woman would remain under close observation because of the depth of the injury and the psychological trauma she might be going through.
