This old image shows two of the most popular faces in the Nigerian entertainment industry, the late Gbenga Adeboye (L) and Faithia Balogun (R) back in the days.

On the 30th of April, 2003, Prince Olugbenga Elijah Adeboye, one of Nigeria’s most talented personalities surrendered and gave up the ghost. He was battling with some kidney-related ailments.

Also known as FUNWOTAN, JENGBETIELE I OF AFRICA, ALAYE MI GBENGULO, KING OF TRADITIONAL ODUOLOGY, ALHAJI PASTOR OLUWO, BOODA GBENGA, World Officially Crowned Oduology King (WOCOK), Okanlomo of Europe, Amuludun of London, Apagunpote of Yorubaland, Grandfather of Oduology and so many more.

Born in 1959, Gbenga Adeboye was a bundle of entertainment talent and his gifts encompassed music, comedy, talk shows, drama and many more.

His mother, Deaconess Rebecca Tinuola Adeboye a.k.a Mama Funwontan died in September, 2013. Gbenga Adeboye hailed from Ode-Omu in Osun State.

Faithia Balogun is a Nigerian actress and businesswoman. Her dad wanted her to be an accountant and she actually did not want to be an actress, she once had the dream of becoming an air hostess. She sat for the JAMB exams but her cut-off was not enough and same with her WAEC exams.

So she attended the Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin (KwaraPoly) where she enrolled for the Diploma in Law programme. However, she could not continue the law programme (after bagging the law diploma) because she said it was too wide for her and is not the type of person who wants to read and read overnight.

Brought up in a Catholic home, she is considering going back to school. By the way, for those curious about her, her father is from Delta State while her mother is from Anambra State, so she is not Yoruba even if she speaks the language fluently.
